What is Palliative Care?
Palliative care is an approach that focuses on managing symptoms and wellbeing, rather than stopping an illness altogether. Some conditions, such as motor neurone disease , heart failure or some cancers, may be life-limiting and incurable.
Palliative care is not just used at the end of life. Many patients live with life limiting conditions for many years, and receive palliative care to achieve their best quality of life for as long as possible. This webpage has lots of information about what we can offer in terms of palliative care at Bangholm, and local services that support our patients with long term life-limiting illness and their loved ones.
