Edinburgh Trauma Informed Self-Harm Support Service - Penumbra
E-mail: LocalityTeam.Edinburgh@penumbra.org.uk
Self-harm Support Service:
The service is for over 16s, but they will also work with younger children’s families. The service can offer practical and emotional support to those experiencing self-harm.
Penumbra offer a safe, non-judgemental space where they can explore their self-harming behaviours, and the service works with them to manage and identify healthy coping strategies.
They can support loved ones and carers, too. The team will work using recovery tools to discover what matters to clients, to develop skills and strategies to help them maintain good wellbeing, and to connect into meaningful community resources. Many of the team members have lived experience of recovery in mental health and bring that insight to support clients.
