Psychological Online Support
THe NHS mental health team provide a very helpful selection of online programmes to help you build the psychological coping skills to improve your general well-being and mental health. We have had some excellent feedback from patients who have undergone these programmes and they are free with the NHS.
The programmes have been carefully designed using clinically proven, evidence based cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) techniques that are commonly utilised by psychologists to help with a variety of mental health issues.
Access to the programmes requires a referral from our clinical team. It often takes only about a week to be contacted by the CBT Support Team once you have been referred.
The CBT therapies are split broadly into 3 different areas:
1: Wellbeing Support
2: Mental Health Issue
3: Mental health with Chronic Health Issues
The programmes run weekly tailored online sessions for roughly 8 weeks. It can be completed on a laptop or desktop. The CBT Support Team will also guide you through the programme and answer any questions you have.
Please call on 0131 537 1247 or email ccbt@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk for any further enquires.
