Our District Nursing Team can address several needs of patients who are either temporarily physically unable to make it to the practice or permanently housebound. They help manage several acute and chronic needs of patients including:
1: Post-Surgery Care
2: Wound Care and Dressings Advice
3: Palliative and End-of-Life care
4: Nursing Investigations and Procedures
5: Advice and Management of Incontinence Issues
6: Medication Management (including administering injections)
7: Equipment Procurement
Please contact them on 0131 551 5062. Normal working hours are 8- 4 pm. Please note they are often out on visits in morning and afternoon but there is a voicemail service which is checked on several times a day by the team. If you are requiring urgent district nurses out of normal working hours, you can still contact the district hut of hours Service via 111.
Please note for those who have been referred to the bladder and bowel team by the district nurses for incontinence issues and have a question about procurement of pads , please call 0131 446 4307.
